Neilreichia       Article query

The journal Neilreichia was established in 2001, succeeding Florae Austriacae Novitates (1994–2000). It is named in honour of the famous Austrian botanist August Neilreich (1803–1871), who wrote seminal works for the floristic research of Austria such as “Flora of Vienna” (1846) and “Flora von Nieder-Oesterreich” (1857–1858).

The journal Neilreichia is published by the Austrian Association for Floristic Research and includes peer-reviewed scientific articles in German and English mainly dealing with taxonomy, chorology and floristics of vascular plants, bryophytes and charophytes of Austria and adjacent regions. Papers on related topics, e. g., vegetation ecology, ecomorphology, conservation biology, karyology, phylogenetics, population genetics, population biology, ethnobotany and history of Austrian botany are published occasionally.

Neilreichia appears once a year in spring and publishes original articles, reviews, discussion papers, short communications, the series “New floristic records from Austria” (example PDF: ), book reviews (example PDF: ), recommended literature (example PDF: ), the annual report of the activities of the Society (example PDF: ) and occasionally tributes and obituaries.

The membership in the Austrian Association for Floristic Research includes the subscription of Neilreichia. It is also possible to subscribe Neilreichia without joining the society (see  Membership/Subscription/Exchange). In this case one volume costs 25 € (+ postage, payment on delivery).
